They say "Data is new oil ". Today everybody have smart phone aka a full fledged computer in their hand networked with many other devices. Everyone is online 24 X 7. And all companies want to know what their existing and potential customers are up-to. They are using AI and ML techniques to study their habits, patterns, consumption patterns, search queries and many more that may be we are not aware of๐ . This data is consumed by AI ML models created based on some algorithms to predict interests of person and what in future they may want to order, see, purchase, learn, wear, go-to, maintain, hospitalized and what not! This is done of-course to increase profits of these companies and bring comfort to their customers but is it happening really? Are these algorithms understand the mind ? Is it ruining the excitement in unpredictability of life, newness, surprises? Is it making people tunnel visioned? These are the questions that comes to my mind whenever I find myself surrounded...
